2006-2007

This season was one of the busiest and most successful in respect of titles won and activities undertaken.

Socially, a joint venture with Waterside TTC in the form of a ‘60’s Revival Night’ Dance in Totton in March 2006. It was a fun, sociable evening and profits were shared between SWTTC, Waterside and the STTA. A Skittles Evening was also held in the spring for SWTTC members and friends.

There were 23 teams in the local STTA, teams in national competitions and a club membership of more than 100. The junior members in the 5 coaching groups would need more support if success was to continue.

The club gained successes in the Junior British League, National Junior League and National Cadet League as well as most of the titles in The Annual Southampton Closed Tournament and 4 of the 5 Divisional titles in the Southampton League. The national events for children were in several locations and sometimes involved overnight stays in hotels or campsites or minibus excursions – all providing memorable experiences! The club also entered a team in the Senior British League for the first time, exposing the adults to national standard play.
